Outside Plant Small Cell / oDAS

This technical project included the removal of 15 existing light poles and installation of custom wireless capable “SMART” poles throughout the Back-Bay area.  The team coordinated with Boston Police Department aligning traffic safety details to allow TCI’s civil and OSP crews to prepare for the installs. All poles contained a specialized base with Radio head units, capable of handling multi-carrier traffic. TCI’s electrical team rewired power feeds from the old poles into new meters installed at each location, while our fiber techs spliced the fiber optic cable into the base station equipment.  TCI’s small cell team added the top-mounted antennas and field adapted the original light pole arms and functioning lights were replaced to match those removed.
